
The Occupational Certificate: Early Childhood Development Practitioner prepares learners to work in centre-based and non-centre-based ECD environments.
Qualified practitioners learn how to plan and prepare developmentally appropriate activities, facilitate daily learning programmes, observe and assess children’s progress, compile reports and promote the health, nutrition, safety and protection of young children.
This qualification provides a recognised entry point into the ECD sector for school leavers, aspiring practitioners and people already working with young children who need a formal qualification. It combines knowledge modules, practical skills and compulsory workplace experience before learners complete the external integrated assessment.
