The National Diploma in Early Childhood Development is designed for practitioners who want to deepen their professional competence and progress within the ECD sector.
The qualification enables learners to plan and implement learning programmes based on an understanding of child development from birth to nine years. It also strengthens teaching competence and creates opportunities for practitioners who want to progress into support, leadership or programme-management roles.
The course covers active learning, inclusive education, child assessment, programme management, family engagement and the development of high-quality ECD services.

This is a flexible distance-learning qualification and therefore does not follow fixed classroom intake dates. Learners may begin once the following steps have been completed:
- Complete and submit the enrolment form.
- Submit a copy of Grade 12 or the Statement of Results for ECD Level 4.
- Receive a pro forma invoice.
- Make payment using the quotation number as the reference.
- Submit proof of payment.
- Receive the learner guide and supporting documents.
- Complete and submit each module in sequence.
